Stapleford Town Council is based at the Carnegie Civic and Community Centre, Warren Avenue Stapleford, Nottinghamshire. The Town Councillors work to serve the needs of the Town and meets regularly to ensure that the Town is represented and its particular requirements are not swallowed up in the larger debate at the Borough or County level.
Stapleford Town Council is consulted regarding planning applications made within the Parish Boundaries. Town Councillors have local knowledge and expertise that can then be utilised by the Borough Council to assist it when coming to its decision.
Town Councils raise their revenue through the precept and this money must be spent within the Parish Boundaries for the good of the local populace. Stapleford Town Council is well known for taking an active part in community projects and is always eager to sponsor and become involved in new projects that will improve opportunities for local people.
The Town Council is delighted to promote the Village Ventures Scheme which brings professional theatre to audiences who may not get the opportunity to travel to the theatre. This scheme has been popular over the last fifteen years. Delighted audiences, have enjoyed the 'Wind in the Willows', 'Waiting For Elvis', and more recently getting 'dug in' at 'The Allotment' and joining 'Sir Gawain and the Green Knight' on this adventure.
